Income Tax, Homestead and Energy Assistance

Appointments are being taken for assistance with state and federal income tax returns and Homestead Credit applications. Help will be available at Lincoln Center on Thursdays and Fridays beginning in February.

Other sites are the Portage County Public Library and Mid-State Technical College (933 Michigan Avenue).

The American Association of Retired Persons' Tax Aide program provides low to moderate income Portage County residents 60 and over tax preparation by trained volunteers,

Appointments are required and can be made by calling the United Way's information line (dial 211), Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group Postponed

We await the appointment of a new facilitator from the Greater Wisconsin chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. The Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group meeting originally scheduled for February 14 has been cancelled.
