For those who aren't familiar with the term, durable medical equipment is assistive equipment used in the home, primarily serving a medical purpose. Items such as quad-canes, walkers, wheelchairs, shower chairs, transfer benches, raised toilet seats, commodes, etc., are considered durable medical equipment. Some, but not all, of these items may be covered by Medicare or private insurance.
Our Loan Closet is intended to meet the needs of:
People who want to try out a specific type of equipment before purchasing it
People who have a short-term need for such equipment
People who need items not covered by Medicare
People who lack private insurance coverage or sufficient funds to purchase needed equipment
