Help with Homestead Tax Credit applications will be provided by Elderly Benefit Specialist Maria Meyer at the Junction City Park Pavilion on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and at Sunset Manor in Almond on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Local author Darlene Biese Schultz will do a reading and book signing on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Lincoln Center lobby. Books are available for purchase in the Holly Shoppe.

For those who crave home cooking but don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, try preparing a healthy and hearty one-dish skillet meal. Cooks can be creative while combining nutritious foods from different food groups. Join a nutrition educator from UW-Extension to help get started. This week: Plover Municipal Center on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., and the Jensen Center in Amherst on Wednesday at 12:15 p.m.
