Collins
Lake is a 41 acre soft water
seepage lake located in the towns of Alban and Sharon, three miles southwest of Rosholt. It is a deep lake with a maximum
depth of 56 feet and an estimated volume of 1,036 acre-feet. Collins Lake has a light brown tint to the water and a thermocline that develops at
approximately 11 feet. The estimated retention time is 2.1 years. The bottom material is diverse, including marl, sand, gravel, muck, rubble, and some
boulders. The fishery of Collins Lake consists of panfish, largemouth bass, walleye, and northern pike. A large
County park borders the northern shore
with a beach, campground, picnic area, and a boat launch. The County also has land on the steep slopes of the south side. Currently, residential
development is largely limited to the west end of the lake.
